Abstract: (IOP)
In this letter we investigate the scaling properties of two-dimensional turbulence by using direct numerical simulations of the vorticity equation. We compare the numerical results with some theoretical predictions derived by the conformal field theory of two-dimensional turbulence recently proposed by Polyakov.
