Abstract: (APS)
The radiative decays of the charged and neutral ρ meson are discussed assuming that the decay vertices are dominated by the low-mass ππ and ωπ intermediate states. The transitions ρ→π+γ, ρ0→π++π−+γ, ρ0→π0+π0+γ, ρ+,−→π+,−+π0+γ and ρ0→η+γ are considered in detail. The probability for the emission of a photon with energy exceeding 15 MeV in the process ρ0→π++π−+γ relative to the 2π decay is found to be 1.7×10−2, indicating that the (2π+γ) decay width is comparable or greater than the (π+γ) one. The internal bremsstrahlung and direct emission processes are included in the calculation of the various partial widths.References(26)
