Abstract: (arXiv)
An adiabatic approximation in terms of instantaneous resonances is proposed to study the time dependent transport of interacting electrons in biased resonant tunneling heterostructures. In the case of a single resonance, we find current-voltage characteristics showing hysteresis or not in agreement with experimental results and predict the existence of ghost stationary currents linearly decaying in time.
