Model-independent analysis of the pi pi phase shifts from pi N ---> pi pi N data

The analysis of ππ scattering phase shifts near threshold has been performed. The average S - and P - ππ phase shifts have been determined by fitting all of the available experimental data for 5 charge reaction channels. The application of the Roy equations allows one to obtain self-consistent ππ scattering partial amplitudes. The calculated amplitudes are in agreement with the experimentally obtained phase shifts and satisfy the analyticity, unitarity and crossing conditions for a restricted range of S -wave scattering lengths 0.205 < a 0 0 < 0.270, −0.048 < a 0 2 < −0.016 in inverse pion mass units.
