Abstract: (Elsevier)
As shown by Seiberg and Witten, electric-magnetic duality allows to calculate the central charges of N = 2 supersymmetric theories with massless hypermultiplets as derivatives of simple modular forms. A better understanding of the physics of small magnetic charge may come from the consideration of s-wave fermions in the background of the monopoles.
