Abstract: (APS)

Inelastic two-body and quasi-two-body reactions are classified phenomenologically. A class of events which could be interpreted as exhibiting Pomeranchukon exchange is identified. The conditions for such Pomeranchukon exchange are studied and in the production of a resonance from an incident particle, the change in spin ΔJ, and the change in parity ΔP, are found empirically to obey the relation ΔP=(−1)ΔJ.
