Study of A(2)- in pi- p ---> pi- p eta0 at 5 BeV/c

We report a study of the reaction π−p→π−pη0→π−pπ+π−π0 at 5.0 BeV/c, which gives clear evidence for A2−→η0π−. The observed branching ratio is R=(A2−→η0π−)[A2−→(ρπ)−]=0.23±0.08, and the observed polarization of the A2 is 2ρ11≃1, ρ1−1=ρ11−≃0.5. We also obtain evidence for A2−→X0π− with an observed branching ratio of (A2−→X0π−)[A2−→(ρπ)−]=0.07±0.03.References(5)
