Experimental results on anti-p + p ---> eta + pi-plus + pi-minus and anti-p + p ---> x-neutral + pi-plus + pi-minus for annihilations at rest

In a study of the annihilations at rest p p → ηπ+π − and p p → X 0 π + π − we find the following results: 1. (a) For p p → π + π − , the rate (1.51 −0.21 +0.17 ) × 10 −2 from events p p → 2π + 2π − π 0 and (1.12 −0.14 +0.16 × 10 −2 from events p p → π + π − (missing mass), the average being (1.26±0.13)×10 −2 . 2. (b) For p p → X 0 π + π − , the rate (2.8±0.9) × 10 −3 from the analysis of events p p → 3π + 3π 0 and (3.3±0.8) × 10 −3 from events p p → 2π + 2π − (missing mass), the average being (3.1±0.6) × 10 −3 . 3. (c) Ratio ( p p → ηϱ 0 )/( p p → ηπ + π − ) = 0.51 ± 0.10 and ( p p → X 0 ϱ 0 )/( p p → X 0 π + π − ) = 0.46±0.25. 4. (d) Searching for resonances decaying into ηπ ± we find rate of p p → (ηπ +- )(1016) + π −+ < 1.6 × 10 −3 ; rate of p p → A 2 ± π ± , with A 2 ± → ηπ ± , < 2.5 × 10 −3 ; and the decay ratio A 2 ± → ηπ ± /A 2 ± → K 0 K ± < 3. 5. (e) Rate of p p → E 0 π + π − , with E 0 → ηπ + π − , < 2 × 10 −3 and the decay ratio E 0 → ηπ + π − / E 0 → K K π< 1 .- antiproton-proton: annihilation
