Abstract: (Elsevier)
We search for the origin of the factor two difference between the cross sections predicted by Salin's and Adler's models for the reaction ν p → μ − N ∗++ . We find that both models are roughly the same for the vector part, but that the lack of a second axial coupling in Salin's model leads to a violation of PCAC, and to a much larger contribution of the longitudinal axial multipole than in Adler's model. However, the experimental results seeming in favour of Salin's cross sections, we are led to define a third model, which does not violate PCAC and which can be fitted to experiment through an arbitrary parameter.References(15)
