Abstract: (Elsevier)
The Prasad-Sommerfield and Bogomolny (PSB) static monopole field is shown to be equivalent to an infinite sequence of Yang-Mills instantons, and the equivalence between the monopole sector of the PSB model and the static Euclidean Yang-Mills field is extended to the equations for the propagators. The explicit construction of the static propagation functions in the field of a monopole is then accomplished with the help of previous results in instanton theory. A purely geometrical interpretation of the classical effects of instantons and monopoles is given.- FIELD THEORY: EUCLIDEAN
- FIELD THEORETICAL MODEL: YANG-MILLS
- FIELD EQUATIONS: INSTANTON
- POSTULATED PARTICLE: MAGNETIC MONOPOLE
- PROPAGATOR
