Abstract:
Recently, the Belle Collaboration reported an analysis of the decay Υ(4S)Υ(1S)π+π\Upsilon(4S)\to\Upsilon(1S)\pi^+\pi^-. We study this decay using a model developed recently in studying the puzzling decay Υ(3S)Υ(1S)π+π\Upsilon(3S)\to\Upsilon(1S)\pi^+\pi^-. We point out that there would be a narrow peak in the Mπ+πM_{\pi^+\pi^-} distribution close to 0.98 GeV corresponding the mass of the f0(980)f_0(980), and the f0(980)f_0(980) might show its effects as two bumps around its mass when the resolving power of the data is not enough. Furthermore, we point out that there might be a broad peak below 0.6 GeV. The π+π\pi^+\pi^- invariant mass spectrum can be described well adjusting three free parameters in the model, and we also give predictions of the cosθπ\cos\theta_{\pi}^* distribution.
