Abstract: (IOP)
Recently, recoilless resonant capture of monoenergetic electron antineutrinos emitted in bound-state β-decay in the system3H–3He has been suggested. Taking into account solid-state effects, in particular lattice dynamics, as well as relativistic effects, basic conditions will be discussed for recoilless antineutrino events to occur. The main problems to be solved for a successful experiment include the determination of the chemical bond of3H and3He in metal matrices, the second-order Doppler shift due to zero-point motion, and homogeneous and inhomogeneous broadening of the emission and absorption lines.- 13.15.+g
