The production of six-charged particles in pi- p interactions at 7 gev/c

Events with six charged particles produced in a hydrogen bubble chamber by a 7 GeV/ c π − beam, are analyzed. In the π − p → 2 π + 3 π − channel strong production of ρ o and Δ ++ is observed. The A 1 and A 2 mesons are also produced. The c.m. opening angle distributions between pion pairs are presented and the differences between like and unlike pion pairs are shown to agree with the Goldhaber model predictions. In the π − p → p2 π + 3 π − π o channel the Δ ++ , ω o , η o and X o resonances are obseved. There is also evidence for the D o → η o π + π − decay. Single particle distributions are also presented and compared with the predictions of phenomenological models proposed by Chan, Loskiewicz and Allison and by Zieminski.- pi- p: interaction
