Abstract: (Elsevier)
The conservation of infinitely many local, polynomial currents in the two-dimensional quantum chiral model is proved in renormalized 1 N perturbation theory. The iterative procedure for constructing the conserved currents closely parallels that used in the sine-Gordon and massive Thirring models.- FIELD THEORY: TWO-DIMENSIONAL
