Abstract: (Elsevier)
Several models are used to investigate the sensitivity of the two-particle rapidity correlations to the behavior of the semi-inclusive cross sections and to the kinematical configurations of individual events. Short-range correlations are shown to be present in many models, including some which do not incorporate the short-range order hypothesis. Explicit examples are computed from an independent cluster emission model. A more direct analysis of kinematical configurations indicates that clustering is present. At NAL energies, the cluster size is approximately one-half the average multiplicity.References(0)
