An analysis of πN scattering amplitudes is performed for −0.1 GeV 2 ⩾ t ⩾ −0.5 GeV 2 The resulting amplitudes have exact fixed- t analyticity and s - u crossing properties. They are consistent with the low-energy πN phase shifts and differential cross section, polarization and R -parameter measurements at all energies for t ⩾ −0.5 GeV 2 . Uniqueness of the amplitude determination is considered.
