The cluster property is proved for a parafermi field of arbitrary order p on the basis of the locality condition which should be satisfied by observables in general. Further, the relation between this field and a fermi field with a hidden variable which takes on p different values is investigated. It is found that the two kinds of field theories are equivalent in different degrees depending on what properties we require of observables.
