Abstract: (Elsevier)
We generalize the prescription of Kadanoff and Ceva for the computation of disorder variable correlation functions in the Ising model for continuous field theories with U(1) symmetry. By considering the product of order and disorder variables, we obtain a path integral representation for fields with generalized statistics. We discuss in detail the cases of massless Thirring and Schwinger models.- GAUGE FIELD THEORY: U(1)
