Abstract: (Elsevier)
We show that the weak production of a pion and its subsequent scattering off nucleons leads to effective nuclear renormalizations of the axial current form factors. We find with Ericson, Figureau and Thévenet and Rho that the axial-vector form factor g A is modified in the same proportion as the pion-nucleus optical potential. We also describe the renormalization of the induced pseudoscalar form factor h A . We investigate the influence of short-range nuclear correlations and off-shell pion nucleon scattering and estimate the renormalized form factors in infinite nuclear matter.References(16)
