Tests of the correlations between the multiplicity distributions stemming from the different encounters between the incoming proton and the nucleons inside the nucleus in high energy proton-nucleus collisions are devised and compared to experimental results. The results show that large correlations must exist between the individual collisions and throw some doubts on the relevancy of a description based upon the individuality of the different encounters.
