Abstract: (CDS)
We present results on the commissioning of CMS electron reconstruction and identification using the first LHC collisions at \surd s = 7 TeV recorded by the CMS detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of \sim 200 nb1{}^{-1}. The electron and photon Level 1 and High Level Trigger efficiencies have been measured from data. The main observables for CMS electron reconstruction, identification, isolation and conversion rejection have been measured and compared to Monte Carlo simulation. The performance of the electron reconstruction and identification has been studied on data. Different selections proposed to be used in physics studies with electrons are studied and compared to the Monte Carlo expectations.
