Abstract: (Elsevier)
We study the density matrix elements of the final multihadron states produced in e + e − annihilation and discuss the additional information obtainable, in the one-photon exchange approximation, from beam polarization. It turns out that most of the new information is due to the longitudinal polarization of at least one beam. Nothing can be learned from the transverse polarization of only one beam, and very little from that of both beams.- electron positron: colliding beams
