Abstract: (Elsevier)
It is shown, using BPHZ renormalization techniques, that the Wess and Zumino supersymmetric scalar model can be renormalized such that supersymmetry and broken chiral invariance are preserved. In particular, the broken chiral Ward identities for Green functions turn out to be free of anomalies. This fact is directly related to properties of the Callan-Symanzik functions discovered by Ferrara, Iliopoulos and Zumino. We use first a notation in which the components of the superfields are displayed explicitly, whereas a supersymmetric notation is employed at the end in order to exhibit the results in a more compact form.- FIELD THEORY: SUPERSYMMETRY
