Abstract: (APS)
To observers inside and near a Schwarzschild black hole, the external universe appears visually distorted and frequency-shifted due to gravitational focusing, gravitational blue-shifts, Doppler shifts, and aberration. This paper calculates the distortion and frequency shifts as seen by observers who sit at rest in the hole's external field, and by observers who fall freely from infinity, through the hole's horizon, and into the singularity at its center.References(11)
