Abstract: (APS)
New data on deep-inelastic Jψ production by muons show a large inelastic cross section. We show that the energy, Q2, and pT dependences of both the elastic and inelastic data are in agreement with the predictions of the photon-gluon-fusion model extended to include higher-order corrections. A striking correlation between the lepton and Jψ scattering planes is predicted which tests further the relevance of this perturbative production mechanism.
