The Department of Physics at Gettysburg College has a one-semester part-time adjunct position available for a Physics Instructor starting in August 2013 to teach both the lecture course and one associated laboratory course in Elementary Physics (algebrabased physics). Masters degree, ABD or Ph.D. in Physics or related fields is required.
The department seeks individuals with a commitment to quality undergraduate education and effective teaching.
Our Elementary Physics course enrolls 40 students and is scheduled for MondayWednesday-Friday noon to 12:50 p.m. The successful candidate will teach one section of laboratory on either Wednesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:50 p.m., Thursday afternoons from 1:10 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. or Friday afternoons from 1:10 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Availability to answer student questions through office hours is required.
