Deadline on Dec 15, 2018
Job description:
The Particle Physics Department (DPNC) of the University of Geneva invites applications for a
Postdoctoral Research Associate
position on the ATLAS Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
The ATLAS group of the DPNC has made significant contributions to the construction and operation of the experiment. It is presently contributing to event reconstruction, top physics and searches for new physics, as well as the HL-LHC upgrade, with activities in the upgrades of the tracker and TDAQ.
The selected candidate is expected to make significant contributions to RnD for the hardware system that will provide the HL-LHC ATLAS trigger with tracks. (S)he will also participate to analysis of hadronic final states in Top or Higgs physics.
While not required, experience with firmware and with commissioning of detector or trigger systems will be an asset for this position.
Inquiries related to this opening and applications should be sent to anna.sfyrla@cern.ch. Applications should include a CV, a publication list and a short statement of research interest. The candidate should also provide the names of three referees who could be contacted for letters of recommendation.
The position is initially limited to one year, with the possibility of extensions subject to successful funding. Review of the applications will start immediately and continue until the position is filled, with expected starting date on 1 April 2019. To receive full consideration, applications should be sent before 15 December 2018.
