Abstract: (WSP)
The UA2 experiment at the CERN Collider terminated its physics program at the end of 1990. The large data sample collected in the second experimental phase (from 1988 to 1990) at allowed detailed tests of many aspects of the Standard Model of particle physics. Precise measurements of electroweak parameters have been performed, predictions of perturbative quantum chromodynamics have been tested, and a new mass range has been explored for the existence of new particles. In this article the final results of the UA2 experiment are summarized and compared to the Standard Model predictions.- review
