Abstract:
We discuss the main features of the new version of the SIBYLL Monte Carlo event generator and emphasize their impact on the simulation of air showers at ultra high energy. The inclusion of diffraction dissociation into the unitarization scheme and the use of new parton density functions improve the agreement with collider data. Predictions are given for typical quantities used to characterize EAS.- talk: Salt Lake City 1999/08/17
