Abstract: (Elsevier)
We have surveyed, with recalculation where required, existing empirical and RGM-derived local d− 4 He potentials in order to identify, in empirically derived potentials, features predicted by RGM. Qualitative consistency emerges, but the energy dependence of the Majorana central component of the d+ 4 He interaction, as determined by inversion of RGM S -matrix, suggests a ratio of even- l to odd- l central potential (expressed in terms of volume integrals) of about 1.5 at E lab =10 MeV. The value of this ratio extracted from empirical potentials is much lower.- 25.10.+s
