Abstract: (Oxford Journals)
Combining the topological expansion (TE) scheme with the Shuryak formulation, and assuming coherent source current for n jets, we obtain the following modified Kopylov-Podgoretsky-Cocconi (MKPC) formula, where x̅_12 = |q^T_12| R̅ with q^T_12 = (p_1 − p_2)^T and q^0_12 = q_01 − q_02. n and R̅ mean the number of jets, and an average distance between the center of collision and jets, respectively. This equation is significantly different in the factor of (1 − n^−1) from the MKPC formula obtained in the laser optical (LO) approach. We propose some experiments to choose a correct description between the two approaches. That a hybrid approach to a model of n coherent and chaotic emitter sources coexist is also discussed.
