Abstract: (submitter)
The Mu2e experiment at Fermilab will search for the charged lepton flavor violating (CLFV) process of muon conversion in an aluminum nucleus field, μ\mu + N (Z, A) \to e + N (Z, A). No CLFV interactions have been observed experimentally yet. In the Standard Model, even considering diagrams with neutrinos oscillation, the expected rate is negligible (BR \sim 1054^{−54}), so that, observation of these processes should be crucial evidence of New Physics beyond the Standard Model.
