Abstract: (APS)
It is shown that the dominance of β→γ and γ→g over β→g E2 transitions in the SU(3) limit of the interacting-boson-approximation model reported by Warner and Casten can be explained simply in terms of properties of the intrinsic E2 matrix elements.
