Abstract: (APS)
Excitation of strength peaked at 12.0 MeV is observed in Pb208 and Pb206 via the inelastic scattering of 200 MeV protons. Based upon angular distribution measurements in Pb208 we interpret the strength as an isoscalar 2ℏω, L=4, excitation.
