Abstract: (Springer)
In this paper we investigate the classical thermodynamic stability of the Reissner-Nordstrom-AdS black hole. Our approach incorporates Silvester’s criterion, focusing on the positive definiteness of the Hessian matrix derived from the mass. This approach enables the identification of specific regions associated with both local and global thermodynamic stability. Within these regions we utilize the Weinhold thermodynamic metric to determine essential parameters for simple quasistatic processes within the space of equilibrium states of the system. These parameters include thermodynamic length, speed, and process time. Through this analysis, we gain valuable insights into the previously unexplored aspects of the Reissner-Nordstrom-AdS black hole.References(12)
