Abstract: (Oxford Journals)
Meson-soliton and pion-nucleon scattering beyond the adiabatic approximation are discussed in a one-dimensional soliton model and the Skyrme model, where the meson and pion are quanta of the fluctuation around the soliton, and the nucleon is a rotating skyrmion. The correct Born terms are constructed within the standard collective-coordinate quantization, and unwanted zero-model pole terms are completely eliminated. The Yukawa couplings such as NNπ and ΔNπ, defined as residues of the Born terms, have the proper N_c scaling behavior of O(N_c^1/2), though the linear pion-skyrmion interaction hamiltonian is of lower order of N_c, N_c being the number of the color degree of freedom.- pi nucleon: interaction
