Abstract: (Elsevier)
The response function for neutrino neutral current interactions are evaluated at finite temperature for a dense medium of electrons, protons and neutrons. We use real-time finite-temperature field theory. The ground state is described by the relativistic Hartree approximation to the σω model of quantum hadrodynamics. We compare the uncorrelated response with the response in random-phase approximation and discuss the influence of vacuum contributions. Results are presented for typical astrophysical scenarios in supernova collapse and neutron star cooling.- neutrino electron: interaction
