Abstract: (APS)
The binding energy of a Λ particle in nuclear matter BΛ is calculated with the models D and F of the NIjmegen baryon-baryon interaction. The result BΛ=30.6 MeV obtained for model F agrees with semiempirical value of BΛ. and shows that suppression of ΛΣ conversion in nuclear matter solves the hypernuclear overbinding problem.
