Abstract: (APS)

Two recent photon scattering experiments agree within 1% on a rather large peak cross section for the giant-dipole resonance of Bi209, but disagree in the width by 14%. We show that photo- neutron data strongly favor the larger width and, therefore, the larger enhancement factor of κGDR=0.46±0.05. .AE
