Abstract: (Springer)
A plane-wave Born approximation is used to analyse the isospin-independent background scattering and the isospin-isospin coupling in the soliton description of S-waveπ-N scattering. The strong sensitivity of the background scattering amplitude with respect to different soliton stabilization terms is directly related to the different metrices which characterize the stabilization mechanism. For the Skyrme term the time-derivative coupling to the collective isorotation leads to an excellent account of the observed isospin splitting.- pi nucleon: interaction
